Benidorm is getting ready to shine brighter this festive season. The town council has awarded the contract for extraordinary lighting to the company Iluminart, with an annual budget of nearly 170,000 euros. The agreement covers both Christmas decorations and the lighting for the town's Fiestas Mayores Patronales, with the possibility of extending for three more years.
All installations will use led or low-consumption technology, aiming to cut energy use and emissions. According to the councillor for Festivities, the goal is for the town to shine impressively during its two most important festive periods, while also improving the aesthetic quality and placement of the lights.
In November, arches, banners, allegorical crowns and municipal standards will be installed for the patron saint festivities, along with decoration of the town hall façade. This setup will remain in place afterwards and be joined by Christmas elements, bringing lit streetlamps and luminous trees to areas such as Els Tolls, Foietes-Colonia Madrid, the town centre, La Cala and Rincón de Loix. Guests staying near the Mirador de Benidorm, by Plaza de la Señoría, can easily reach the Old Town on foot to enjoy the festive atmosphere.
